Prof. Madhu had not taught our batch in MA,
unfortunately. We however would hear from our Industrial Psychology peers that
he was an excellent teacher. My association with Sir was post my PG, as a
research scholar in the Department. Although he was not my research advisor, he
always helped with suggestions, answering n number of queries about statistics
and offering general advice – with loads of patience, always sporting a smile,
sometimes gently nudging us, sometimes pushing us to scale up. Beyond my association
with him at the Department of Psychology, Andhra University during my research
years and subsequently as an RA, my rapport with Prof. Madhu strengthened
during his visits as either Member, Board of Studies or as External Examiner to
the Department of Applied Psychology, GITAM
University. We could always bank on him when we needed external consult. He
generously gave out a lot of ideas about strengthening the programme at GITAM.
Madhu Sir, had a friendly disposition and was a person
with a pleasant demeanor. Throughout my association with him, I have never seen
him lose his cool; never obsessed with trivial issues, formalities and
protocol, Sir always looked at the larger picture and personified
professionalism – a rare quality around.
